As
part of the Bournemouth Circuit of the Methodist Church,
Winton enjoys the worship led by Ministers and Local
Preachers from other churches in the town as well as
our own Ministry
Team. This page shows the preaching plan for our
church for the forthcoming months. Each of the service
codes are hyperlinked to an explanation at the bottom
of this page. For clarification, just click the number.
Our Sunday Explorers meet at 10.30, joining us
for the first part of the service then going to their
own classes.

thanking God for another bountiful Harvest.
In these modern days,
we commonly praise God also for the many other ways
in which we enjoy life. Some of our songs celebrate

Earth's resources.

33 - Springbourne
The
Springbourne Family Support Project is an initiative
of the Methodist Churches in Bournemouth to work with
those single parent families living in bed-and-breakfast
accomodation. Once a year we have a special service
in our church to remember this work, pray for it, and
we take a special collection to assit with its funding.

34 - Women's Guild Sunday

35 - All Age

36 - Prayer & Praise
Our
Prayer and Praise services are an attempt to broaden
our experience of worship, in line with our Mission
Statement, and are commonly led by our worship band
and one of the circuit Local Preachers or Ministers.
One week it may be
a queit, reflective service drawing on resources from
Taizé or
the Iona Community, the next we may be rockin' with
Matt Redman and other modern worship material. These
services are held monthly.

37
- Gift Service
Today
we are making our special gifts to the Church, normally
for a particular project.

40
- Christingle
The
orange with a candle in it, a red band around it, and
fruits representing the four seasons attached reminds
us as Christmas approaches that Jesus Christ came to
save the whole earth. This sevice will commonly include
our Sunday School nativity play.

41 - Nativity
Everyone's
favourite service of the year - our youngest young people
presenting the story of the birth of Jesus Christ in
dramatic form, usually with singing to join in with.

42
- Crib Service

43
- Candlelight Service

LA
- Local Arrangement
The
preaching plan is aranged by the circuit's Superintendent
Minister, based on availability information provided
by the Ministers, Deacons and Local Preachers in the
area. Sometimes there is no preacher available at a
particular time so if the church community wishes to
hold a worship service LA means they have to sort it
out themselves. They can invite a visiting preacher
from another area or arrange a service of worship without
preaching by themselves (as preaching in the Methodist
Church is restricted to those who have undergone appropriate
training. This maintains the quality a congregation
can expect to hear from a preacher in a Methodist church.)
